Pihlajamäki goes Blues

This is the fifth blues festival in Kiillepuisto park in Pihlajamäki. The festival with relaxed rhythms in an environment from the sixties is sure to bring together music lovers of all ages once again.

Starring at the 2011 festival will be the celebrities of Finnish blues Honey B. & T-Bones and Pepe Ahlqvist, rock legend Melrose and country blues man L.R. Phoenix from the south of England.

There will be lots for children to experience, such as an adventure track organised by scouts, a bouncy castle and a playground with roundabouts and swings. In a special tent, recycling materials will be provided for making festival trinkets. No one is going to be hungry thanks to food tents where food will be served as well as waffles to those with a sweet tooth.

The festival is organised by the music team of the Pihlajamäki-seura association, Pihlajamäki Local Work Unit and more than a hundred volunteers. The event is admission free and alcohol and drug free.
